The PAA operates as a nationally-accredited coach support organisation. We direct "would be" coaches to a 1st4Sport Level 2 coaching courses. They are held at Pershore College in Worcestershire.
Each course is over two residential weekends and will provide you with a lifetime addition to your professional skills portfolio. The Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Angling course involves a mixture of personal study and tutorial theory/practical sessions. You must be over 18 years old. The qualification is composed of four mandatory units of study;
Unit 1 angling and coaching; principles and ethics;
Unit 2 working with partners to develop angling;
Unit 3 preparing angling coaching sessions;
Unit 4 conducting angling coaching sessions.
This is a professional 1st4Sport qualification, not an attendance course.
Some regional coaching courses are also organised during the year, according to demand. A full course lasts for a total of seven days, normally separated into two segments and includes:
- Specialist tuition,
- First Aid Training,
- Child Protection Course,
- Logged one-to-one coaching during which the candidates abilities are assessed,
- A short test in the coaches preferred angling discipline (coarse, game or sea) to assess their competence as an angler.
Provided you have the desire and drive to become a coach you should be able to achieve this. There is no need to be an expert angler to qualify, all that is required is competence in your chosen disciplineand a commitment to teach others. If you have not already qualified as a coach you may want to contact Pershore College requesting course details using the address below:-

For your amusement:-
He fishes in the morning. He fishes in the night. He fishes in foul weather and when the sun is bright. He fishes, fishes, fishes, it's his only thing in life and all he ever catches ...... is HELL from his fed up wife.
Work is for those who can't fish.
